Orgullo De Campo

Our story started in the fruitful lands of the Salinas Valley, where the earth is rich and the horizon wide. This area is known as the "Salad Bowl of the World", a place where the soil is a living, breathing foundation for the sustenance that feeds a nation.
Orgullo del Campo was proudly born from this land, honoring the hands that till the soil and the community that thrives on its yield. The Salinas Valley is a marvel of agricultural abundance, as well as a testament to the harmony between the natural gifts of the land and the dedicated labor of those who cultivate it. Here, strawberries, lettuce, and a myriad of berries ripen under the California sun before finding their way to tables across the country and beyond.

GRAPES

The Monterey AVA, which includes parts of the Salinas Valley, is home to over 40,000 acres of wine grapes. It’s known for a cool growing region with a very long season, suitable for producing wines with rich flavors and brilliant colors. Varietals grown include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc​.

STRAWBERRY

Salinas is a prime location for strawberry farming, with the season running from late March to November. California’s coast, including Salinas, is home to about 35,000 acres of strawberries, making the state a significant producer year-round.

LETTUCE

Known as the world’s foremost lettuce-growing region, “The Salad Bowl of the World,  Salinas produces a variety of lettuce including the popular Salinas iceberg. The valley yields roughly 70 percent of the U.S. lettuce crop, with the ‘Salinas’ crisphead lettuce variety noted for its firm, creamy interiors and slightly dull-green outer leaves​.

BERRIES

While specifics on berry varieties are less detailed, Salinas Valley is home to Naturipe Farms, which has been a trusted source of fresh berries since 1917. This region’s farmers are committed to delivering vibrant, delicious, and nutritious berries throughout the seasons.

BROCOLI

Broccoli thrives in the Salinas Valley’s mild climate and fertile soil. It’s characterized by small uniform beads, good blue-green color, and tight, dome-shaped heads. This region is integral to the production of fresh vegetables and fruits that are distributed across the nation.
